No. 21 · The Presidents
Chester A. Arthur
1881-1885
With western American workers clamoring that the recent influx of Chinese immigrant workers lowered wages for everyone, Arthur passed the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882. Fairly self-explanatory, the act placed a 10-year suspension on Chinese immigration and forbade U.S. courts to grant citizenship even to those Chinese already residing in the United States.
Lyrics
Capo 2 · Em, G
Sure, I'll cave
Who do you hate?
Let's make them illegal
We'll call it the Chinese Exclusion Act
Can it be that simple?
No, no, it's not what you think
It's just that I exclude you
'cause if you were gone, us whites could get our rich on
supply and demand, you've gotta understand
that's why I've called for a 10 year ban on you
but before you go, will you teach us how to make crab rangoon
